Bernie began his real estate career in the mountains of Western North Carolina. With a strong passion for everything outdoors, he moved to Asheville in 2003 and began selling for an on-site development after 15 years in the Restaurant industry. While in the hospitality industry, he learned to work with many different people and personalities which helped tremendously in the Realty world. Working within the gates of a private community, he learned the art of walking mountain property, reading the topography and understanding the unique options for homesite placement. Bernie’s experience includes serving as Broker-in-Charge for both Trillium, a luxury resort community in Cashiers, NC, and Bear Lake Reserve, a luxury lakefront community, where he pioneered and built a community resale program. Today Bernie operates the most successful resale program within Bear Lake Reserve. Bernie’s the lead broker for SUNDOG Realty in Sylva, NC, and has been one of the top producing Realtors in Jackson County for more than 5 years running. In 2020, Bernie earned #1 in Residential Sales in Jackson County and #4 overall in the Carolina Smoky's MLS.
